Hello and welcome to the Friends of The Rise page

Friends of the Rise ( FOR) is the name used to represent the fundraising work of parents, guardians, school staff and others to directly benefit the children who are educated at Cookham Rise Primary School.

As a parent, guardian of a child at Cookham Rise Primary School or a member of staff you are automatically a member of FOR and as such you are entitled to attend all of the meetings, input to proposals, and make suggestions for spending or raising funds.  We want to hear your views so please do try and attend the meetings if you can. 

The aims of the FOR are as follows:-

1.To organise enjoyable fund raising events which benefit the school children.

2.To facilitate an informal link between the school teachers and the parents

3. To provide an opportunity for parents to meet socially.

4. To fund some social activities for children.

FOR is a charity run by volunteers and we always welcome people wishing to help in whatever way they can, big or small.

Did you know that last year through their hard work and determination FOR raised in excess of £10,000.   The money raised goes towards buying items such as new outdoor play equipment that could not normally be funded through the school budget (for example the Stage 2 Trim Trail, requested by the children’s school council).

A new sound and lighting system was purchased with some of the £5,000 raised at this years summer fair and the £2,125 from the Christmas fair is to be spent on re-marking the school playground and new ICT equipment for the classrooms to benefit the children’s education.
